Poynterissa Amy Gahran käsittelee edellisessä entryssä mainittua Washington Postin blogikommenttiongelmaa. Kirjoituksen kommenteissa eräs kirjoittaja esittää varsin synkän käsityksen vuorovaikutteisen median todellisuudesta:
If you have a blog that typically draws 10-50 comments per post, it's easy for a couple of bullies to come in and overrun the place.If you have a blog that draws hundreds of comments per post, the only people reading it all will be those with a lot of time on their hands.
Either way, you're catering to the crankiest of your readers.
Within certain niches, you can have a useful exchange of ideas or pleasantries. But on a general news, politics or media blog, you're often just asking to let the extremists dominate.

Tuota varten on kommenttien pisteytys ja kirjoittajien karma. En minäkään jaksa lukea slashdotista kuin asteikolla 1-5 4+ kommentit, silläkin uhalla että jotain mielenkiintoista ja hulvattoman hauskaa menee ohi.
